Winter does some rough things to my hair, and I know I’m not the only one! My hair is already pretty dry, breaks easily, and is incredibly thick. Winter only makes these attributes worse! Luckily I have finally found a winter haircare routine that has let my hair live its life!
Shampoo and Conditioner
I was my hair around once a week since I was able to train my hair to not need constant washing. When it comes to shampoo, the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo is my go-to shampoo right now. It feels invigorating on my scalp, and like it actually is cleaning my hair. I also enjoy the smell right now since my sinuses are out of line!
Finding the perfect conditioner is hard, right? While I’m still on the hunt for mine, the Redken Extreme Conditioner leaves my hair feeling soft, but it doesn’t make it feel weighed down which is great! I’m about to try a new conditioner, so you might see that in a late winter hair care routine in a few weeks!
A newer addition to my hair mask selection is the Ouai Treatment Masque. I tried a sample a few months ago and I loved it so much that I had to pick up the full size. You don’t need to use a ton of product, and has made my hair so soft. Both of these masks are probably the reason I have no split ends right now, and I’m so thankful!
I have finally decided that my hair needed some sort of heat protectant spray. I know, what is wrong with me?. The first being the Ouai Memory Mist which I love to use when I am curling or waving my hair after straightening. I find that it helps hold the style without feeling too heavy. The Perfect Day Heat Styling Spray for when I am drying or straightening my hair.
The Air Dry Foam from Ouai has been perfect for days where I let my hair air dry. This helps reduce frizz and keeps my curls/waves looking more defined. I alternate this with the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day In-Shower Styler which performs pretty similar to the Air Dry Foam.
As far as oils, I am not really dedicated to one certain product. The Olaplex Bonding Oil has been heavy in rotation lately. I primarily focus this product on the ends of my hair, as I have found that it can get greasy if I use it near the roots, or use too much. A solid repurchase for me over the years has been the 100 Proof Smoothing Oil from Drybar. I love to use it when I straighten my hair to smooth out my hair.
