If you have ever taken any course to improve your life or skills, then you probably have heard that you have to have some sort of self-discipline. I’m here to let you know that self-discipline doesn’t work for everyone, and that is okay! Learn how you can get the most out of your self-love journey without driving yourself mad!

Why Self Discipline Doesn’t Work
To be straight up, there is one main reason why self-discipline doesn’t work for most people. When we say the term “self-discipline”, we are essentially telling ourselves that we must do something that we typically don’t want to do. This could be going to the gym on a regular basis, improving our work productivity, etc. If you are on a self-love journey, then there are probably certain things you are either restricting or cutting out of your life.
There are a ton of people that associate the word “discipline” with a negative feeling. Typically when we think of discipline it is a result of something negative that we did. Why would we want to discipline ourselves over a piece of candy or avoiding TikTok? I don’t know about you, but I try and treat myself with love and respect. I avoid negative beliefs and restrictions.
Your self-discipline is never going to work because you are going against what you want to do. The only way to really find happiness is to do what you want to do. While the journey to getting to be where you want or getting what you want may not be fun, you realize the joy that awaits you at the end of your journey.
Self-Discipline is Easy to Toss to the Side and What to Do Instead
How many times have you told yourself that you are going to go to the gym every day in the new year? Yeah, probably most of us! You find a gym that you like going to and you go every day for the first week. Come the next week you are not feeling so great, or you are not in the mood so you skip a few days. By the next week work has picked back up and you are exhausted! The end of January rolls around and you maybe went to the gym a total of 10 times. See how easy that self-discipline was to through to the side?!
Like I mentioned, if you are having to self-discipline yourself to do something, you probably don’t want to do it. You should focus on finding a way that feels good and natural. Maybe create small steps to accomplish a larger goal, or focus on how you will feel once you reach a goal. If you are someone who is into manifesting and the law of attraction, ask yourself these questions.
- How will I feel once I reach my goal?
- What does my life look like when I get there?
- What steps did I take to get to my goal?
I highly suggest manifesting your best life. Not only will it raise your vibration to feel more encouraged, focused, and motivated to accomplish specific goals you have created for yourself, but you will also have the confidence that you can do anything you set your mind to.
