How to Know What Fashion Items You Should Invest In

You have probably heard the phrase “invest in pieces that will last you forever”, but how do you know what you should invest in, and what you may be able to save some cash on? Knowing which fashion pieces you are going to wear will help you know what pieces you should invest in. Here are a few tips that have seriously helped me!

What are your most worn pieces?

Here is an exercise! Head to your closet and pull out five of your most worn items. Even if there are some fashion pieces that you repeatedly wear, set them aside. Look at what you pick out and see what they are. I did this the other day, and mine are sweaters, handbags, jeans, boots, and dresses. By doing this, you know the fashion pieces that you should invest in! Whatever you are wearing a ton of, you need to make sure they are pieces that will last forever, not just for a season.

Set up a budget!

Investing in quality fashion pieces does not have to blow the bank. If you are thinking of making some changes to your wardrobe, go ahead and set aside a sort of budget. For those with a huge budget, go wild! If you have a smaller budget, you may be interested in doing some research on the fashion pieces you plan to invest in. For me, when it comes to handbags, I (sadly) cannot purchase them as often as I would love to. I research a bag before I decide to purchase one, and that has made me love every single luxury handbag that I have.

Go for classic items

If you are going to pick some fashion items to invest in soon, go for items that are more classic. Even if faux fur jackets are on your list of most worn, go for items that are in classic colors that can be paired with a variety of different outfits. Same with boots, make sure they are in colors and heel heights that are actually going to work for your lifestyle. I really love this article from CNBC about investing in high fashion pieces!

I always like to invest in jeans and boots.
I think a pair of jeans can be with you for year without losing its shape!
And boots, it is so important to walk on quality shoes for me.

Yes, me too! I’m so afraid that it might irritate my skin. I have such sensitive skin!
