Although the beginning of the year is often the time for creating new plans and getting ourselves back to work. To be honest, I’ve had quite the issue with getting started this year. Self-care is often something bloggers forget about, and I’ve been guilty! I have taken a step back to focus on not only getting my work done but also to make sure I’m taking care of me. It’s okay to not want to create
Here I am again talking about how I just haven’t been drawn to Instagram again. I’ve made a few posts sharing why, and I still feel the same way. Although social media is not blogging, it definitely is a big part of marketing your blog. While I have felt like creating some content on the blog, I have been reminding myself that if I am not feeling it, or liking what I make, I don’t need to be doing it. After all, if you are practicing self care, it can reflect on what you are creating.
It’s not all bubble baths
It is so easy to think that self care for bloggers needs to be bubble baths and foot massages, but that is not all it is. Fellow bloggers know the stress we put on ourselves to have everything together, and we really don’t have to. Self care for bloggers can easily be doing batch work, getting help from a friend, or taking the time to strategize or just do some planning!
It may be time to make some changes
There was a point in time where I used to create a new blog post every single day. Yeah. I cut that down to every other day, but I realized that I was sacrificing the content just to keep up with my schedule. Eventually, I decided that three times a week was the perfect amount for me, and that really brought me back to loving my blog.
If you are finding your blog stressful, tiring, or just not representing you, don’t be afraid to make changes to improve the quality of your content. The New Year is all about meeting our goals, but make sure those goals aren’t ruining your quality of life!
