5 Ways To Live A More Satisfying Life

I don’t know about you, but life can sometimes get in the way of my happiness. Thinking about everything that I have to do in a small period of time can cause quite a bit of stress. Most of the time we are unable to really take the time out of our day to reflect on ourselves.

There are a few ways to figure out what makes you happy in life, and sometimes those are much easier than you can imagine. Sometimes it can be easy to forget that we are not Sims characters, and we cannot slow down the aging process with the click of a button.

If you aren’t living a satisfying life, then what kind of life are you living?

1. Get Out Into The World

I know that I say this all the time, but it is true. Getting out of your comfort zone is one of the best ways to boost creativity, find yourself, and to educate your mind as well. Traveling broadens your horizons to not only other cultures but to what is important to you as well.

There have been many train rides across hundreds of miles that have made me really think about life. No cell service, no books, and nothing but empty space. Seeing how other people live is fascinating, and it makes you wonder what your life could be like if you were there.

In addition, you don’t always have your usual necessities while traveling. It is a great way of showing yourself what you can and cannot live without.

2. Make Sure You Love What You Do

One thing that terrifies me as I get older is that I may not always get to do what I love. For now, I get to work from home, and I truly am one of the luckiest people. I can travel the world, spend time with my dog, and I never have to worry about missing time with my family.

While I know that most people cannot just quit their job at the drop of a hat, you can work towards changing that. If you have a dream that you have had for years, what is keeping you from working towards that dream?

Even by creating a blog, I was able to completely change my life for the better. Creating a satisfying life is relatively easy if you can learn patience, and work towards personal goals.

3. Take Time For Yourself!

I’ve talked about the importance of self-care so many time! Although I usually have about three things going on at any moment, I always make time for me! This can be a great bubble bath at night, or even just sitting on my couch and knowing that I did everything that day. It’s kind of like sitting on the train as I mentioned earlier.

Having a moment where you think about yourself can be so satisfying. You can think of things you want to get done, how you would do things differently, or pretty much whatever you want. I love to write things down as I go throughout my day, and taking time at night to reflect those is also a great option! Find a great journal, and practice that, if you need somewhere to begin.

4. Do More For The World Around You

Taking the time to care for those around you is something that not everyone does all of the time. I know that it can be difficult for me to think about how someone or something is doing until it is too late. Seriously though, nothing is as satisfying as helping others.

Tasks such as recycling are a great way to start and can make a huge impact on the world around you. Volunteering is another great way of giving back! Even more important than that, take the time for your friends and family as well. Check out this site if you’re looking for some opportunites near you!

I love when I get the chance to talk to one of my friends who lives across the country, or when I get to go grab lunch with my mom. Even going to the nurserys I love with my friend makes a huge difference to how satisfied I feel.

5. Stop Caring About Social Media

Coming from someone who works in social media, this is kind of weird to say. I spend so much of my day thinking of what to post or making sure it is the perfect time to post on Instagram.

At the end of the day, how does a digital number make you feel any more worthy of a satisfying life?

I grew up in a generation that didn’t have social media when we were young, and I am thankful for that each day. Instead of worrying about getting the perfect shot, worry about creating memories that will last a lot longer than your iPhone.
