Although the holidays are over, that doesn’t mean that the excitement in the air has to die. Think about how close we are to the end of a wild year and let’s figure out how to make 2021 the best year yet! Here are 5 things that you can do to prep for the new year!
Do a habit check-up
If you were here for my self-love series, then you know how important habits really are. Not only can habits tell others about who we are, but they can also help us understand ourselves. If you are looking to do a full habit check-up, then you should absolutely read this post. I break down how to identify bad habits and steps that are necessary to change them!
If you want, you can also download my free habit transformation worksheet too!
Create an ideal budget
Who else overspent during 2020? Raise your hands. We are all in this together, seriously. One of the things that I have done recently is establish how much I spent in different areas of my life and how much I want to spend in 2021. Is that going to actually happen? Maybe. Either way, creating a budget is a great way to prep for the new year!
Have a junk purge
I know you have a junk drawer. Clean it out! In addition to leaving 2020 behind, let’s all leave behind things we are not using or just straight up junk. Go through drawers and cabinets. Donate what you can, sell what you want, and trash anything that is not worth saying. You may also end up ready to clean your entire house too.
Have a complete digital detox
We have all been living our lives through our computers and our phones. The best thing you can do to prep for the new year is to have a big digital detox. Check all of those unread emails, delete those old phone numbers out of your phone! A detox for you may also be deleting your social media accounts or even unfollowing people who don’t bring you joy.
find ways to dedicate time to yourself
So many people I know are straight up neglecting themselves, especially this time of year. Make sure that you create a schedule that leaves time to take care of you. Dedicate one day a week to pampering yourself, or even do some inner work such as journaling and meditation. Make sure that you prep yourself for the new year both mind and body.

Having a digital detox once in a while is so refreshing. It really makes you realise how stressful social media can be. I need to do more of those in 2021. Have a wonderful new year! x
