How to write the perfect Instagram bio!

I don’t know about you, but. I don’t really like talking about myself! While I write quite often, it is always tough to talk about ourselves, and why we are worth choosing as a creator, or why our recipes are better, or even why to follow us on Instagram! I’m sharing some tips to create the perfect Instagram bio without the stress!

Make it personal, and show who you are!

There are so many people on Instagram, and all of them have unique personalities, so make sure you’re standing out more! Since your Instagram bio cannot be too long, you need to take some time to figure out what you want to share. Are you a dog mom, or maybe you have a speciality that pertains to your niche.

For example, in my bio, I mentioned that I was a blogger, but also shared my speciality and work in digital marketing. That way someone who is choosing if they want to follow me knows a little bit about me that can make me seem relatable to their interests.

In addition, you need to show your fun side. While you’re videos or images might show you creative side, let the reader or a potential follower in on the fun side of you. This definitely stems back to the drive for authenticity that is happening on social media right now. People want to know you, believe it or not! I let my Instagram audience know two facts about me that they may also have in common.

Girl, where is your call to action?!

I know that we have talked about the importance of a call-to-action in order to increase your community, and make sure that people are engaging with your content through your blog. Guess what, Instagram is no different! By having a call-to-action in your Instagram bio, it can cause automatic engagement.

I like to place mine in the last sentence of the bio because it makes the most sense to me. You can tell an audience about your new ebook, or even something as easy as just telling them that they should check out your newest blog post. If you’re a Youtuber, then maybe share your latest video!

Just remember that when using CTA’s, you need to be providing a certain level of value to the reader!

A few extra tips!

If you’re wanting to create a great Instagram bio, then make sure you have an actual photo of yourself as the bio pic! People like to see the person behind the content!

You should add your URL right after your CTA in your bio. Not only is it an easy way to get people to make that conversion! The ultimate goal should be to get users to your blog at the end of the day. Speaking of, don’t throw an ugly URL up there. Make it clear to the reader where the link goes to reduce confusion!

I think it is important to note that by now, we know there is not special secret to the perfect Instagram bio. As long as you’re being yourself, you’re working with the space that you have, and you’re understanding that social media is for fun! Play around with your bio until it is perfect for you.

I never realised how important bios are until a few months ago. Mine previously was cluttered and very irrelevant. Now those who come across my account know exactly what I am about! -xo
