How to start making better goals

Life can get overwhelming sometimes! One of the best ways we can fight the stress and anxiety is by creating goals. Not only do goals organize your life and thoughts, but they can actually propel you forward in life without even realizing it. Here are a few tips to make better goals for yourself! Here are some questions you should ask yourself ASAP!

What’s the point?

This is probably my favorite thing to ask myself when I sit down to make some goals. Start your new goals by asking yourself what you are trying to do. Are you working on your degree? Maybe you want to start that blog this year. Giving yourself a reason to achieve whatever it is, can help you make better goals!

A great practice is to write down a goal that you have in your mind. Underneath that, write out the end result. You can then create a game plan to achieve that goal. This is something I have been doing since I was younger, and it has stuck with me this long, it works!

What is it worth to you?

Creating goals is much easier than you might think it is. When you’re working towards a major achievement, you might have to sacrifice a few things. If you’re working on that degree you’ve always wanted, then I’m sure you have missed out on a few social events!

While we all have huge hopes and dreams, sometimes they just don’t work into our schedules. Making sure that your what you’re doing matters and is worthy of your time is a great step to seeing that goal completed. If you’re willing to skip out on that trip to Disney World to work on your project, then you know it is important to you!

It’s always the goals that really mean something deep down to me that I end up following through with. The satisfaction is such a great feeling!

Are you keeping track?

This is something I learned much later in life, but I wish I had known about this earlier! If you’re actually trying to make better goals, then you need to be able to track your progress on them.

Not only will it help you stay focused, but it also is a great feeling to be able to check off those little milestones on the way to finishing your goal!

This can be as simple as keeping track of the days you workout, or setting small milestones within your blogging journey for your traffic. If you’ve ever been in a Dale Carnegie course, then you probably know all about SMART goals, and the impact that they can have!

I really like the idea of tracking your results. I think we sometimes give up on things because we don’t see the progress, but we have to celebrate our small victories!

These are all such great questions to ask yourself, I especially like the first one. that question can keep you going and motivate you. When I set myself a goal I always divide it into smaller goals/steps, that way I don’t feel overwhelmed and like I’ll never reach it. Plus, whenever I reach one of those smaller goals I get that inner motivation to keep going! With every step, you’re closer to your goal. No matter how big or small it is xx

Setting goals has got to be one of my favourite things to do, I love to challenge myself and by setting goals I can achieve that. I definitely need to do a better job of keeping track though, otherwise I procrastinate and struggle to achieve said goal.

    p.s. Absolutely loving your blog!
