You may be asking yourself, “ugh, what is going on here?!”. I am experiencing a moment of mental clarity, and I wanted to have a change in content for a brief moment! For the past few months, I have been focusing on a journey of self-love, and it seems like a lot of you are interested in it as well! I’m sharing how you can start your self-love journey right now, and everything that I and doing to improve the quality of my life so that you can do it as well!
Self-Love is a Journey
The reason a lot of people are intimidated by self-love is that they think it is selfish. The truth is, there is nothing selfish about wanting to put yourself first. Honestly, if you are not putting yourself first, it is likely that no one else has you as number one on their list. Harsh, but I’m just honest!
When you start your self-love journey, you may not know where to begin, and guess what, I did not know when I began my journey either. The first thing you need to realize is that there is nothing you can do but just feel when the time is right to start changing your mindset and your life.
Self-love is not something that you can experience overnight. You are going to have to focus on yourself, your needs, and your fears. I’m sharing the steps I took to start my self-love journey so that you can come along with me!
Listen to Yourself
The first thing you need to learn is that you need to listen to yourself. Chances are you have dulled the voice inside of you so that you can take care of everything else. Am I telling you that everything else in your life doesn’t matter? Absolutely not. What does matter is how you feel about all aspects of your life.
You should ask yourself how you are feeling multiple times per day. Not only is this going to give you a few moments of peace each day, but you are going also to be more in-tune with yourself. You are going to eventually be able to recognize when you need to take a moment and focus on you.
Additionally, your mind and body are usually throwing up signals! If you are having stomach problems, it may be time to think about how you are feeling, what you are eating, or if you are spreading yourself too thin. Maybe you are finding yourself exhausted halfway through the day. This could be a sign that you have too much going on, and you need to reorganize your thoughts and priorities.
Identify Where You Want to Be
The Law of Attraction seems too good to be true, right? For years I pushed this idea under the rug, thinking it just didn’t work for me. In all honesty, my feelings have changed 100% on the effectiveness of the LoA. One of the most critical aspects of this law is visualizing where you want to be, what you want to have, and what you can achieve.
A practice that I do each day is to meditate and focus on my goals, aspirations, and plans. I think about where I want to be, and the rewards that come from what I am working on. Not only has it given me mental clarity about HOW to achieve my goals, but it is also a great source of motivation!
One method that has really worked for me is to fill out a daily journal. Before I start any work for the day, I write down a few affirmations, goals, and even how I am feeling in a journal. I have actually created a free worksheet for you to download so that you can join me! You can either download this and put it into your self-love notebook (what I did!), or you can simply print out a copy and keep it somewhere safe. If you already have a journal or notebook, then incorporate these prompts into your own content!
Create an Action Plan
Now that you know where you are going to be, it is time to figure out the steps you are going to take to get to that place. Whenever you start anything self-love related, you should always take the time to actually write down everything. For me, I always feel a strong connection to my intentions if I approach things this way. If simply keeping it on your phone or your computer works for you, do that!
- Write Out Your Goals: Your first step needs to be writing out goals. Make sure they are specific! You are going to make $1000 this month; You are going to get that promotion at work. You are going to find and enter a healthy relationship. Whatever your goals are, write them out, and try to include specific details.
- Create 3 Steps That Will Help You Achieve Those Goals: Now that you have your goals created break each of them down. How are you going to meet your financial goals? What steps do you need to take to launch your blog? What do you need to do for yourself for your self love journey? The steps should be realistic and things you can do on your own. The more specific your actions are, the clearer your path is going to be!
- Review These Goals Daily, Weekly, or Monthly: It is simply not enough to just write these goals and steps down. You should make sure you are reviewing the plans you made for yourself regularly. Reviewing your goals will help keep you on track, and you will not start feeling overwhelmed.
- Don’t Be Afraid to Make Changes: The key to a successful self love journey is to realize that you are going to change as time goes by. There will be times when you are focused on becoming financially stable, but on the way there, you could realize that job satisfaction is really where your priority lies. This is your journey, keep it personal, and focused on what you are trying to accomplish.
