You guys, when I clocked out of Hollister for my last shift ever, the last place I though I would be shopping for jeans as was their parent company. Having worked at both stores, it just was not my vibe, my style, or even my price range at the time, even with the discount! Over the past couple of years people have been hyping the brand up again, and I had to know what was going on\. Here is an honest opinion of the AF Curve Love Denim.
What I Was Going For
Let’s have a real moment here. Jeans and bottoms have been kind of a touchy subject for me lately. I am not exactly at a weight that makes me feel good or confident. Jeans are pretty much my mortal enemy right now, but I love jeans and I needed to find some that fit me better than what I had in my closet.
I wanted a pair of jeans that fit my waist and body even when I was bloated. Personally, I have been living in leggings lately. A few people that I follow over on Instagram rave about the AF Curve Love Denim and I decided it was time to try it out. I ended up going with a high-rise straight leg fit that had some distressing.
What I Expected vs. What I Got
This is such an odd thing to say, but I was expecting something miraculous. At a price of around $100 per pair, I was expecting a flattering fit, great quality, and other traits that I have come to expect from a higher price point denim brand.
When my jeans arrived I was honestly pumped. I ripped open the bag and slide them on. To be honest with you, they did not exactly meet my expectations. I think I was expecting a thicker denim that was slightly more rigid and maybe held you in better, that is just what I expect when I buy something that is “denim”. What I ended up with was a thinner denim that is very stretchy.
It may seem like I am a little let down by my AF Curve Love denim, and on a real note, I kind of am. Am I let down enough to return them? No. I do think they are comfortable, I like the color, and I like how they fall on my legs. I wish the look around my waist was different, but that is just my hip dips talking.
Overall, I do think they are nice jeans. I think they have a great look to them and they are pretty comfortable. When it comes to the price…they may be overpriced in my opinion. Having worked for the brand, that is not shocking and is pretty expected. They seem to be better than they once were, so there is that! If the denim was thicker and more substantial, I would love them, so I can’t say that it was a total loss. If you have tried anything from AF lately, I would love to hear about it!
