The majority of last year I decided that goals just were not something that I could vibe with. I felt pressured, limited, and I would often end up feeling disappointed in myself by the end of the month. The truth is, I was too afraid to push myself out of my comfort zone. Going forward, I want to share my monthly goals with you. Here are my February 2021 goals!
Read Two Books
I know this is small! I used to be so good about reading all of the time. Reading is one of my favorite ways of escaping the digital world as well as a great ritual to rest and relax before bed. A problem I have is finding books that I actually want to read. I would love if you left any book recommendations down in the comments. I am open to any genre!
Commit to a Full Month of Skincare
Did anyone else completely fall off the skincare wagon over the holiday season? Whenever I experience stress or exhaustion, my skincare is something that tends to fly out of the window, and I can see it all over my face.
Since the new year, I have been trying to get my skin back in order. Now that my stress is much lower than it has been in months, I want to make sure that I am using my expensive skincare tools and my full regimen as often as I should be.
Blog At Least 3 Times Per Month
Since we changed to our current blog name, I have found it really easy to stick as close as I can to blogging three times a week. I feel like the name fits what I want to talk about better, and I don’t feel as limited as I once did. While I wish I could have a certain topic to talk about each day, I enjoy the freedom that I have right now.
For me, blogging is still primarily just a hobby and I don’t feel the need to push anything on those who read my blog. Everything I write is simply things that I feel like writing about. Nothing more! So while this may seem like a weak February goal, it is something that I feel helps me stay creative and motivated.
Officially launch my etsy shop!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably know that I have decided to start my own small business. It is called Aligned Ash Studios and is going to focus on candles and wax melts. right now. Each of them will be handpoured, made with 100% soy wax, and have boutique/luxury inspired fragrances. I want to be ready to launch and sell by March 1st. Hopefully I can get everything going sooner!
Start My new Hobby
When the new year started I knew that I wanted to start some sort of creative hobby. I knew this hobby needed to have no relation to the internet at all. Creating a slower lifestyle has been something that I have been interested in for a while now, and this hobby is completely inspired by my environment.
Where we live it is heavy with red clay. I saw few Pinterest images of people creating small planters from the mud and clay in their own backyard. Will I probably only do this once? Yes. Do I want to at least experiment and see what happens? Yes. If you are interested in knowing what happens, be sure to follow me over on Instagram!
Spend at Least two hours outside per day
Whenever I spend time outside, I have been able to see a huge impact on my mental health and overall wellbeing. One of the most important February goals I can make is to make sure that I am spending a good amount of time outside per day. This can be by doing the hobby I just mentioned, or even just walking around with my dogs.
Where I live, this is one of the last really cold months that we tend to have, so I want to take full advantage of it. I also have some gardening that I can do to prepare my existing plants for the warmer months, so that should also help eat up time. If I have something to do, two hours does not seem like a lot of time.
Do a Complete edit of my closet
Probably since November I have not enjoyed buying clothes. I have purchased the occasional item, but not anywhere like I used to. Going through my closet and drawers will help me see exactly what I have in my wardrobe. I also know that there are quite a few things that I can donate, sell, or that just need to be put in the bin.
