Expensive Skincare Tools: Should You Actually Spend Your Money on Them?

*This post contains affiliate links*

My grandmother instilled one thing with me at a young age – The importance of taking care of your skin. As I pass my early thirties, it has become more apparent than ever just how important your skin care routine actually is. After seeing some signs of aging, I decided to invest in some expensive skincare tools. Are they worth the price?

expensive skincare tools

The two tools I am going to talk about in particular are the Foreo UFO and the Nuface Mini. Are they the most expensive skincare tools on the market? Absolutely not. Are they way more than I typically spend on skincare? Absolutely. For actual years I have seen great reviews about different skincare tools like these, and I always thought I would take the leap. Having purchased these months ago, I think I can give a fair and honest review on how I feel about them.

Foreo UFO

Not even going to lie, I was fully influenced into purchasing this product. It looked so luxurious and so nice from everyone that I saw use it. Being a lover of a mask, I knew that it was something I would probably love as well. One of the main downsides of this is that you need to use it with the Foreo products in order for it to work which can be a pain.

Did I see any serious changes overnight with my skin? Not really. After using it for about one month did I notice a more even texture? Yes. I think the biggest draw to the Foreo UFO is such a luxurious experience. Not only are receiving benefits from the different masks the brands offer, but it also has some great features.

The Foreo UFO not only using sonic pulsing to help your skincare apply better, but it also uses red-light therapy. The masks will run you an extra $10 to $20 depending on which kind you get, but there are multiple masks in the packs you purchase.

NuFace Mini

If you read any of my holiday gift guides, then you probably saw this on at least two! This is one of those expensive skincare tools that I have seen for years, but I always told myself I was too young. As I noticed my skin sagging just a little, I knew I needed to stop it. The Nuface Mini is just under $200 and the set I purchased comes with the gel primer as well.

The Nuface Mini takes a while before you see results. They recommend using the device 5 times a day for at least 5 to 6 weeks. Personally, I have been using it for about three weeks now (not regularly!) and I can already see more definition in my face, less excess weight, and a more slimmed jawline and neck.

Don’t get me wrong, this is an expensive item. There are so many platforms such as Afterpay and Klarna that allow you to pay in payments to make the blow to your bank account less harsh. The Nuface uses micro currents to help train your muscles, and it can be a bit tingly and weird feeling at first, so make sure you test it out on your skin prior to use!
