My Top Tips for Planning A Disney World Trip in 2020

Disney World is somewhere that I have visited more than I probably ever should have. We used to go multiple times per year, but since have narrowed that down. When planning a trip, it can be overwhelming to know where to stay, where to eat, and even how to get there. Here are your top tips for planning a trip to Disney World in 2020!

Disney World

Stay Within Your Budget

Disney World is one of those places where you can blow your budget before you even get there. Rooms range anywhere from $80 to $1000s per night. Before you begin planning your trip, you need to set a budget and stick to it. Disney offers Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resort hotels that can fit into a number of budgets.

Before you start planning, check and see if there are any deals going on. Sometimes you can get a discount on park hoppers, hotels, or even a free dining plan which is totally worth it. These can help you save a few dollars that you can put towards something else on your trip, or just save in general.

Make A Plan

Although it may seem crazy, you should always make a plan before visiting Disney World. With four parks, two water parks, and special events happening, it is easy to get overwhelmed. We plan out which park we are going to each day which makes the rest of the process much easier.

Fastpass+ and dinner reservations can be planned in advance before your trip if you are staying on property. Dinner reservations can be made 180 days before your and Fastpass+ selections at 60 days in advance. With the new rides coming to Disney World, not all rides have the Fastpass+ option. All Ears provides a great guide for selecting Fastpass+ reservations!

Know What Is Going On

We are actually headed to Disney World at the end of the week, and we have made sure to stay on top of what is happening at the parks. Currently, Rise of the Resistance is almost impossible to get on unless you arrive at Hollywood Studios at 6 am and get lucky on the app. If we had not paid attention to that detail, we probably wouldn’t be riding the ride at all.

There are a lot of changes going on at the parks right now. Most of Epcot is completely changing, and there are always the refurbishment schedules you should pay attention to. If you are wanting to ride a specific ride make sure it is open before you make your plans. This also applies to any holiday or special events.
