Why you need to edit your Instagram account constantly

Instagram has become the leading social network for influencers, bloggers, and content creators. Not only is it a great way to let your readers have a glimpse of your life, but you can also find an entirely new audience who just straight up like your content! If you don’t know, I completely deleted my old Instagram account around the beginning of the year, and I’ve been focusing on organic growth and building a real community! If you haven’t tried to edit your Instagram account, then what are you doing? I’m going to share ways that I edit my account to keep it fresh, active, and most importantly legal!

It can actually help you engagement

First off, engagement is more important than your amount of followers will ever be. This also can be the most time-consuming aspect of trying to edit your Instagram account. Every now and then I’ll dive into the people that are following me and just have a good clean out.

I’ve been able to really manage my account so it hasn’t gotten out of hand, but if you have a big account, then you should highly consider the Cleaner app for Instagram, it is so much easier than going through thousands of accounts by hand, especially if this is your first time editing your account.

By cleaning up dead accounts, bots, or accounts that aren’t relevant, it can have a huge influence on your engagement rate! As we all know, the higher your following number, the more engagement you need to hit that 10% sweet spot that many of us strive for. If you’re looking for some info on how to improve your engagement rate, check out this post!

It is actually better for your audience

There are MILLIONS of people on Instagram, and they are all killing the game. By doing a good edit of your Instagram account, you can provide better content to the people who have chosen to follow and engage with you. For me, I did this by going through my images and seeing which ones I had the best engagement on. Shout out to an Instagram business accounts, analytics are everything!

By finding what content my followers were responding to, it allowed me to not stress so much about what to put on Instagram. You’d be shocked by how much stress it can sometimes cause me, it is embarrassing.

If you read my post about the Instagram algorithm, then you know a person’s feed has a lot to do with how much they interact with your content. The more someone likes, comments, or watches something that you create the more you will show up on their feed. Make content that people want to engage with, it is really that simple!

It keeps YOU safe

As the social media and blogging industry grows, the legal aspects are growing as well. We all know about the issues with disclosing sponsored content! When I do anything sponsored on Instagram, I will double check that I have clarified that through the caption.

When you edit your Instagram account, you can also edit your personal information. If you watched You then you probably are aware of how easy it is for someone to stalk you. Make sure that your personal information is protected and not putting you in a compromising situation!

I should. I have been thinking about it. I also don’t have a lot of followers to begin with so then I feel like is it really necessary? I will look at the Cleaner app though and see how it works!

It’s probably not if your following isn’t too large! I just will go through mine about once a week to make sure there aren’t bad accounts!
