To be honest, I start drinking apple cider around Halloween. It gives me all of the cozy vibes that I look for this time of year. One of the best things about this instant pot apple cider recipe is that you can have it completely ready in 10 minutes, and you can completely customize it to your liking!
What You’ll Need
- Instant Pot or Slow Cooker (I use a 6qt, but use what you have!)
- Any apple cider of your choice. (try buying from a local market or even orchard in your area!)
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Orange Slices
- Apple Slices (optional)
What to Do
The first thing you want to do is to simply pour in your apple cider. I usually get a smaller jug which fits well into my 6qt Instant Pot. If you are serving this for a get-together or using a larger pot, feel free to get the larger jug.
Once my cider is in the pot, I will turn it onto the keep warm setting. If you are not using an instant pot, turn your device on to the lowest setting, but avoid keeping it on saute to avoid wasting your cider, or even burning it.
Add your sliced oranges and apples into the cider. I find that these are not necessary, but they make it look beautiful, smell amazing, and I think it adds a little bit to the flavor of the end result.
Depending on your taste, add your spices and seasonings into your Instant Pot. I like to use full cinnamon sticks, but I usually use very little anise since it is not my favorite flavor on Earth.
Once all of that is added, let your Instant Pot warm up until your Instant Pot apple cider is ready to go. You can even leave it on to allow the flavors to really come together. If you have any excess, just pour it back into the jug to drink later!
