5 Tips to Remember When Creating Content For Your Blog to Make People Love It
For most bloggers, creating content is an entirely personal experience. You have decided what your blog name is, an idea of what you want to talk about, and maybe how you want to approach it. If you are in the stages of creating content for your blog, then. Here are a few things that can help make it easier for you!
Who is Your Audience?
I’ve said it once, and I’ll repeat it. Knowing who your audience is is single-handedly the most critical factor in creating content for your blog. You will learn how to write your posts, their interests, and what they can relate to. If you are not sure who your audience is, there is a straightforward way to figure it out!
Head over to your Google Analytics. To the left side, find the “audience” report. Head down to demographics, and you can see both the age and gender of your visitors as a percentage. If your audience is close to your age, what are you interested in? If not, it may be worth asking someone who is in that age group what kind of content they are into.
What Type of Content Do You Want to Create?
Okay, now that we have talked about your audience, you must be writing about what you want to write about! When you create content for your blog, you seriously have to write about things that interest you. Not only will it make sure that you want to write at all, but if you hate what you are writing about, it is super apparent.
If you are just starting, there is a chance you don’t know what you want to write about. That’s okay! Have a brainstorming session and write down some ideas. I always keep a master list to help me develop ideas and help me stay on track. This also may be an excellent time for some personal reflection!
What is Your “Purpose”
This next tip is a little blurry to most people. When I say “purpose,” I don’t mean your purpose in life. I am talking about why are you writing blog posts? Are you sharing your life for your enjoyment? Maybe you want to help people with their blogs. Whatever your purpose is, it should be clear and understood by your readers. Figure out what you have to say and how you need to say it.
What Is Your Most Popular Type of Content?
If you have already been blogging, this is a great tip for creating content for your blog. Go through your analytics and stats provided through Google Analytics or your blogging platform. There is going to be some type of content that stands out, and that is what is resonating with your audience.
You can either choose to create more content along those lines, or you may decide to go in a different direction. You may also be able to notice the format of your posts that your readers like the most!
What is Your Current Blogging Schedule?
Lastly, what is your current blogging schedule? Are you blogging multiple times per week, or are you posting a few times a month? The less you are posting, the more valuable your content should be. Posts should be longer and more focused on the type of content you are posting. If you are posting multiple times per week, you have more freedom to write shorter posts or on more topics.
