Creating a Healthy Relationship with Money and Finances

Most of us get really uncomfortable when it comes to money, but why?! We all use it, we all want it, and some of us have it. It is time to break down the barriers and blocks you have to start creating a healthy relationship with money and finances!

Why is Money So Taboo?

This is honestly a question I wonder about all of the time. Money is so common. We use it daily, we see other people using it, we are working to earn more, so why is it such a sensitive topic? So many people have a weird relationship with their finances. A lot of this stems from what we didn’t have growing up, or ignoring all that we have now.

The truth is, you should not feel weird talking about money. It should make you feel empowered. You can earn however much money you set your mind to. Even if you are in a job that may not be making the kind of income you want it to, there are thousands of ways to make money without leaving your house. So, let’s start working on changing your mindset so that you can create a healthy relationship with your money!

Money is Energy, Not Validation

I know what you’re thinking, let me explain. Chances are you grew up with a certain aspect in mind. You either felt like you did not have enough money, or you had plenty. The way you feel about money stems from your experiences with it, not the things you buy with it.

What does money allow you to do? How do you feel when you spend money on necessary or unnecessary things? Do you feel differently when you have money? These are all questions that you can associate a feeling or an energy with. How many times have you bought something only to find that you do not feel different in any way.

If you have the energy that your life is abundant and that you have more than enough, you are going to start seeing more positive actions happening in your life. You are also going to begin to have healthy relationships with your money and your finances.

This is a great lecture that you can watch for free on YouTube that really goes into how money is energy!

You Should Focus on Abundance

To create a healthy relationship with money and to shift your mindset, focus on what you do have as opposed to what you don’t have. How happy are you that you can provide for you and your family? Doesn’t it feel great to have enough to pay your bills for the month? While acting like your life is abundant may be hard, it is the best way to attract the energy you want in life. Once you practice gratitude, you are going to be more thankful for the life you have and be able to focus on the positives in your life. The universe is also going to rise up to meet your vibration and help you.

Let Money Flow to You

Even though money is something we all want and value, the easiest way to actually have money flow to you is to release the feeling like you NEED money. If you feel like you are desperate for something, chances are that you are going to actually push it away. You are going to make choices that are not aligned with your actual vision, and you are more likely to focus on what you don’t have. Throw away the idea that you have to have money to be the person you want to be.

As I mentioned earlier, money is energy. If you are living a high vibe life, then you are on the same vibration as everything you want in life. Instead of focusing on creating money or attracting money, focus on improving your self-worth and your vibration.

Learn That Money Cannot Give You Happiness

Let’s be real, money doesn’t give us happiness. People who have all of the money in the world are not always happy. People who may not have a lot of money may be happier. Just because you can buy whatever you want does not mean that your problems are going to be solved. Is paying your bills excluded from this? Sort of. You need to focus on being happy in your own life. Look inside to see what areas of yourself you need to work on. The journey to reaching the level in life you want is likely going to give you more joy than any amount of money ever could.

All of this is SO good, friend! I love that you included that you can make as much money as you set your mind to – you are spot on. 🙂 So many times, we think we’re stuck in a certain job that doesn’t pay enough, or that we can’t make a certain amount of money because of the cards we’ve been dealt in life. We are in control, if we just take the time to realize that and put in the work.

Also, I love the money is energy statement!

Thanks so much Ashley! So many of us have blocks around money just because someone else told us making money or saving money had to be hard!

What a great post! I will admit that I don’t tend to talk about money a lot, but it definitely needs to become less of a taboo subject and more talked out xx
