This has been such a weird year. Not only have we had to completely adjust basically everything in our lives, but we also are having to make so many sacrifices as well. So many of us are going to have an adjusted holiday in just a few days, but you don’t have to be alone. Here are a few ways that you can spend Christmas together without actually being together.
video chat them
Video chat has basically taken over the world this year. We are using it for work, for school, and even for get-togethers. For those who are spending Christmas at their own home, this is the best way to spend Christmas together without actually having to be near each other.
Now maybe a great time to ensure that your grandparents or even your parents know how to set up a video chat on their phone, computer, or even smart device. You can even cook dinner together, eat, or maybe watch your favorite Christmas film. Do whatever makes you feel the most normal! Even Instagram and Facebook allow you to go live which may be a great way to connect as well!
Call Your Loved Ones
If you aren’t able to video chat with your loved ones, you can also just give them a call. You can talk about how each other are, how you are feeling, anything! Make sure that you make enough time for everyone to chat throughout the day. You can also have a group call so that you can talk to more of your friends and family.
Drive By and Say Hello
If you live close enough to someone, you could always drive by and see them. While it is not advised to get close to anyone that is not in your immediate household, you can still go to their driveway and wave and tell them Merry Christmas. If you choose to drop any gifts or baked goods off, make sure you are using proper handling to avoid transmitting any germs into their home or vice versa!
Text Them to let you know you are thinking of them
The easiest thing to do is just to shoot someone a text. It takes just a few minutes to do, and it could mean the world to someone that you were thinking about them. If your family has a group chat, this also may be the perfect time to wish everyone a happy holiday and to let them know you were on their mind.
