When it comes to the holidays, Christmas movies are always something that I look forward to. They can put you in a festive mood no matter where you are, and there is something magical about the holiday season. If you are looking for some classic or new Christmas movies to watch this season, here are my favorites!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This is definitely my personal favorite out of all of these Christmas movies! Just to clarify, I am talking about the 1966 and the 2000 versions here. Don’t waste your time with the new version unless you are looking for a disappointment this holiday season.
Christmas With the Kranks
I’m actually surprised my family has never decided to ditch Christmas and go on a cruise instead. Out of most of the movies I watch this time of year I get a ton of holiday vibes out of this one. I love the rush to get things ready, I love the neighbors, I love the entire thing.
The Holiday
When I am having a holiday self-care day, this is always one of the movies that I want to watch. I love the vibes of the movie as well as Cameron and Kate! Plus, how many of us want to run away to a cute cottage in England and just get grounded?
Four Christmases
Although I love going home to see my family during the holidays, I get the idea of skipping it to go on a tropical vacation. Thanks to the weather, all goes wrong and Reese and Vince are forced to meet all sides of the family. Not only is it super funny, but it is a great movie to show how holidays can stress out your relationship without realizing it.
Christmas Vacation
This is probably one of the most quoted Christmas movies of all time. It really reminds me of how wild my Christmas season is, and I think it is just so funny. I may or may not have a set of the moose cups that I bring out this time every year!
Love Actually
Don’t ask me how many times I have watched this movie because I honestly have no idea. There is something so cozy about the whole vibe of the movie and it has some serious heavy hitters in terms of actors.
The Holidate
I had seen everyone talk about this movie and I just had not spent the time to watch any new movies. I am a big fan of Emma Roberts and I think it is a pretty cute movie in general. It also covers pretty much every major holiday, so you can watch it year-round!
Elf
Elf is another one of those Christmas movies that really makes the Christmas season. It is hard to go anywhere without seeing Buddy the Elf popping up. It also has Zoey Deschanel who is one of my girl crushes, and you cannot go wrong with NYC at any point during the holiday season.
Home Alone
The older I get, the more I wonder how Kevin’s dad could afford the trip to Paris and that large house. I am always so excited when I see Home Alone come on. There are so many memories I have associated with this move over other Christmas movies, especially with my grandparents. It is always a classic!
Home Alone 2
Since I cannot go to New York City this winter, I am having to live through the eyes of Kevin Mcallister. There is something about this movie that really makes me feel like the holidays are finally here. Also, is there anything more magical than NYC decor during Christmas? Not much.

Hannah
I can’t wait to start watching Christmas films! Totally agree about watching the older versions of the Grinch, I’ve not see the newer one, but I feel like I don’t need to as the older ones are amazing xx
