4 Things To Do For Your Blog That Aren’t Writing

When you have a blog, it seems like the world is never done! There is always something to work on, something to change, or something that needs your attention. Even when I’m not creating new posts, there is still a ton of things that need my attention! If you’re looking for more ways to improve your blog that aren’t writing, this is the post for you!

Support Fellow Bloggers!

This might seem odd, but it is important! Not only are fellow bloggers more likely to comment on your blog, but it is also amazing for SEO! Having your link appear on different websites will make seem more valuable to search engines! You can also support fellow bloggers by liking their content on social media, or even sharing posts that you really enjoyed!

Update Your Images

When it comes to working on my blog that has nothing to do with writing, it is totally updating images! My photography style has changed so much over the past few years, and when I would look back on some of my photos, they needed an update! On this blog, my images are all current, but as my photography style evolves, you’ll see updates! This is especially helpful if you are just starting out!

Create content upgrades

One of the most exciting projects for me on this blog has been growing my email list. Not only has it been amazing to connect with my readers, but it has really pushed me in terms of creativity. I create content upgrades for my email list that can help you organize your life, or help your blog! I’ve created everything from E-books, email courses, and free downloads. I’m not a graphic design genius, but tools like Canva and Over have made it so easy! If you read my Pinterest graphics post, then you know all about Over!

While you aren’t writing for your blog, make sure you’re learning!

As I mentioned earlier, there are tons of things to do for your blog! When you first start out, you probably won’t know everything, and that is where learning comes in! I’ve pretty much taught myself everything I needed to know by doing simple Google searches. I also have raved about Hubspot and their free courses too! If you’re looking for blog photo tips, then read some articles, and start trying it out! Blogging is fun, and there are constantly new things that you can learn!

Why you need to start branding your blog

These are wonderful tips Ashlee! I am very slow at writing and part of that is because I need to be intuned with my feelings and thoughts. When you got a kid running around and chattering away, writing for me takes a back seat. So instead I focus on things like learning and developing my skill sets. Photography is something I enjoy doing and started to also involve my son in the sense that I let him shoot photos as well on an older camera. So he can also learn along with me. Win-win! I hope you are having a great weekend so far! Btw, have you written an article regarding social media and how you can be successful if you are only on one channel? Is that even possible? If you have any thoughts or resources on this, I’d love to know!

Hi Maureen! Thank you so much! I kind of have talked about choosing the right social media platform for you. I definitely don’t think you need to be on every single platform. I think it is all about what kind of content you like to create, and where your audience lies.

It definitely takes time, and I used to get so annoyed. I was always so happy with the results afterward though!

Love these tips — I like to go back and update my graphics to pin to pinterest. I’ve created so much content over the years but didn’t really have a pinterest strategy until more recently. Gotta update all the images so they are in line with my aesthetic now!

Awesome tips! Updating my Pins and creating new ones is something I have added to my blogging strategy atlas twice a month. I make sure the images are optimal and if they aren’t bring traffic to my blog, I create new images with more specific keywords. I agree we should be always researching and learning as the blogging industry is always growing! As always, enjoyed reading your post!
