What You Need to Know in Order to Change Your Mindset

Our mindset plays a huge role in how we approach each day. A good mindset can lead you to a successful and productive day. A negative mindset can keep you from accomplishing even the smallest goals. In order to change your mindset, it requires dedication to your highest self. Here are six powerful ways for you to change your mindset and change your life.

Choose Uplifting and Positive Activities

Even though it seems small, the choices we make each day can have a significant impact on our mindset. How often have you decided to watch reality tv for thirty minutes? What did you get from watching that show? Are you really getting that much enjoyment out of Forensic Files 2? While all of these things are great forms of entertainment, you can also use that time to choose something that empowers you or helps you grow.

Something that I have been really enjoying is the App Blinkist. I found out about it through some of my favorite YouTubers. Basically, it breaks down some of the most popular non-fiction books into snippets under twenty minutes that sum up the entire book. Personally, I think it is a much better way to spend your time. Even something as small as fifteen to twenty minutes of expanding your mind can change your mindset completely.

Another great idea is to start utilizing positive affirmations. Your brain will think whatever you tell it. If you are constantly telling yourself that you are a piece of shit, it is going to think you are a piece of shit. If you are saying that you love your job, have a great relationship, and love yourself, then guess what….that is going to be what your brain thinks.

Let Your Mind, Body, and Soul Explore More

Something everyone needs to do is make sure they are not pigeon-holing themselves. What I mean by this is make sure you are absorbing more than just your life. Take the time to study the world around you, watch different movies. Read different books, listen to different podcasts, and even talk to different people.

The more you expose yourself to new and different things, the better. Even traveling is a great way to change your mindset. Once you realize how much there is out in the world, it can help you put a lot of things into alignment for yourself.

Try Doing Things With No End Goal in Mind

How many times a week do you do something just for you? Chances are, probably not a lot! If you are really wanting to change your mindset, try and do things that have no end goal. Choose activities that are just for you.

When I say no end goal, that is exactly what I mean. Take a walk in the woods, dedicate yourself to thirty days of meditation or journaling. You can also choose to start a gratitude journal that you write in every morning before you start your day. By doing things that you are not driven

Understand Your WHY

If you have been around here for a while, then you have probably heard me talk about understanding your why before. Not only is it a great asset of manifestation and productivity, but you can also use it to change your mindset as well. When you know why you want something or why you are doing something, it is much easier to actually want to do it.

If you are new to this idea, it is really easy to start putting into practice. If you are manifesting and wanting to do something, ask yourself why you want it. What are you going to do to get there, how will it change your life, and what are you going to do with it when you have it? Understanding all of these can give you more clarity in different aspects of your life.

Change the Way You Approach Yourself

Like I mentioned earlier, our brain will believe what we tell it. So many of us have a weird relationship with self. We are harder on the choices we make than anyone else would be. Start being easier on yourself. Instead of saying “I am so stupid for doing that”, figure out a way to reverse it. Instead say “I learned a valuable lesson from this decision”. Talking to yourself is more effective than you may think it is.

If this seems weird to you, just try and start small. When you are brushing your teeth, really look at yourself in the mirror and say what you love about yourself. One of the best ways to do this is to use “I Am” statements. Try saying I am successful and happy, or I am thankful for waking up healthy and motivated. Whatever works for you, these statements can help influence your mind and change your mindset.

Acting As If

If you read my most recent post, then you are familiar with acting as if. While this is mainly a manifestation technique, I also think it is valuable when you want to change your mindset as well. If you keep telling yourself that you are happy, successful, and productive, you will become that. Even if things are rough right now, you can still pretend and tell yourself that things are going great.

By acting as if, you are not letting your reality have a negative impact on your mindset. You are living the way you would if your life was on track like you want it to. This also means that you have the mindset of someone who has their dream life. It can be incredibly positive and uplifting to use as a tool to change your mindset.

I’m very pro-manifestation. One of the few things I do to avoid negativity thoughts is I avoid or unfollow those who only speak negative stuff and every day I look at myself in the mirror and tell myself that I’m a beauty. It helps with my self-esteem a lot!
